If there is something that stands out in the world of design, it is creativity and the desire to reinvent and renew each other every two minutes. For this reason, old techniques that have existed have always hit hard to give a new look to your designs.
In this post I will explain to you with a super simple step by step how to apply image texture to your texts,so that you can design everything you want by following this easy and attractive trend.
This technique is very similar to double exposure, but instead of overlaying images, what we do is apply the texture of an image to a text. The possibilities are endlesssince the image you use to give texture can be anything from a watercolor effect, to a photograph of a street, to a detailed plane of a flower. Let your imagination fly!
Surely you’ve already started thinking about the thousand and one things you could do with this effect, right? So, let’s get started with the tutorial!
STEP 1
We will start by creating a new file in Photoshop. Once inside, we will change the name of the layerthat is created automatically by “Background”.
I recommend that you initially use a white tone for the background layer. As your design progresses, you will see which color suits your composition best.
STEP 2
At this point you are going to compose the text. Try to use bold or semi bold fonts, with enough thickness, since the image will go inside them and if the font is very thin, you will hardly see anything.
You can also use a lettering that you like, as I have done. In this case, remember that your lettering must have a transparent background. If not, the tutorial is not going to work for you.
Adjust the size of the composition or lettering as you like. And then, change the name of the layerto “Text”. Ready! Let’s go to the next step!
STEP 3
Now is the time to import the image that you will use as the textureof your typesetting. Insert it into the document, rename the layer so you don’t get confused (this is optional but always helps), and adjust the size to match your design.
We are about to reach the pass that will do all the magic. So before it is important that you make sure that the layers are ordered in this way: Texture (the image), Text (the typesetting or lettering you have made) and Background (the solid color background).
STEP 4
As I was saying, the moment of truth arrives. Once you have the layers ordered, select the layer of the image or texture, click with the right button and select the option “create clipping mask”.
It’s that easy! You already have your text with the texture you wanted. Now you just have to adjust it well, so if you are not convinced how it turned out, you have to move the texture or image layer. Try making it bigger or smaller, flipping it a bit, etc. In short, to adapt it perfectly to your design so that it is spectacular also provided by logo design services.
Ready! Once you have it, you just have to decide if you keep the white color of the background or replace it with another. You see that the options in this tutorial are multiple, depending on the image you choose as a texture. Surely your head is already spinning to see how to apply it! Go ahead and carry out this simple tutorial to apply textures to texts and make your designs unique.
